News Release
AEM’s 2007 Annual Conference Will Examine Global Business and Leadership Strategies

With a theme of “Shaken Not Stirred - Finding the Perfect Mix,” the 2007 Annual Conference of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) will help attendees find the “perfect mix” of markets and strategies to achieve ongoing success despite the cyclical nature of the off-road equipment industry.

The 2007 AEM Annual Conference will be held November 11-13, 2007 at the Ritz-Carlton in Naples, Florida. The event serves as the yearly education and networking gathering place for presidents, CEOs and other senior managers of off-road equipment manufacturers (agricultural, construction, forestry, mining and utility) and industry service providers.

The AEM annual conference will focus on “going global” with an examination of international markets and business options, and will explore workforce development with discussions of innovation and visionary leadership strategies.

Keynote speaker is Marcus Buckingham, a best-selling author and expert on outstanding leadership and management practices. He created the “strengths” revolution, a philosophy for companies and individuals to apply their strengths for maximum success.

Featured presenters include Aleksander Kwasniewski and Thomas Koulopoulos. Kwasniewski was president of Poland during the 1990s known for his market reforms that helped Poland gain entry to NATO and the European Union, and Koulopoulos is president of the Delphi Group and a thought leader and author on the social, organizational and economic impact of globalization and innovation.

A special “international forecast” segment will gather manufacturers, distributors and end-users to discuss the world outlook for construction and agricultural equipment business, with China, Korea, Japan, Latin America and Europe represented. AEM will also provide its annual outlook for domestic markets, including perspectives from a variety of industry sectors.

Michael Burchell of the Great Places to Work Institute will moderate a panel of companies named to the Fortune magazine “best companies to work for” list, and Wayne Rivers of the Family Business Institute will outline what company leaders need to address to keep their businesses financially secure. An optional workshop led by Roger Garriock of the Delphi Group will provide hands on ideas to spur innovation

AEM will conduct its Annual Business Meeting during the conference, with director elections and a progress report on AEM’s strategic plan initiatives to meet the evolving needs of members. Go online for details and to register - www.aem.org – Education section.
